Why Crazy Girls Cabaret Does It Better

A real Sunday-night experience from a frequent Phoenix/Scottsdale visitor.

A mellow Sunday, a new favorite

On a recent business trip to North Scottsdale, I had a free Sunday night and the itch to explore some nightlife. I’m in Phoenix and Scottsdale often, and while I’ve long considered Bourbon Street a dependable stop for talent, the vibe hasn’t always been my favorite.

Staying on the north side this time, I searched my phone and found Crazy Girls Cabaret—close by and easy to reach from Loop 101 (minutes from the I-17). It was a quiet Sunday, so my expectations were modest.

First impression: hospitality over hype

When I walked in, no cover—the manager was upfront: “It’s a slower night, but come in and make yourself comfortable.” Respect. Inside, the lighting felt right, the music wasn’t blasting, and there were plenty of attractive entertainers circulating. Low-key, relaxed, and welcoming—exactly what a Sunday should be.

The comparison I didn’t expect

Curious, I decided to check out Bourbon Street. Different story at the door—cover charge—and once inside, not much happening in the area I could see. Maybe another room was busier, but at that moment it felt quiet. I wasn’t thrilled to pay a cover on a slow night.

So I headed back to Crazy Girls Cabaret. Again, no cover, and the staff remembered me and welcomed me back. That kind of straightforward, guest-first approach matters.

Transparent VIP rooms (no bait-and-switch)

I opted for a VIP room—and here’s the insider tip: these are some of the nicest VIP rooms in town. The pricing was clearly posted (no awkward surprises), and the rooms were genuinely comfortable with the right amount of privacy. It was a great experience, start to finish.

Verdict: my new go-to in the Valley

Crazy Girls Cabaret earned a spot at the top of my list. On a quiet Sunday, they chose honesty over hard sell, service over cover charges, and comfort over chaos. Next time I’m in town, I’ll be back.
